Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong, a very rich man from Vietnam, had a big meeting in Hanoi. He talked to 50 important people who work in the transport business. This meeting was very interesting because they talked about changing from normal cars to electric cars.

The taxi companies said something surprising. They told Mr. Vuong that they are ready to cancel their orders for regular cars that use petrol. Instead, they want to buy electric cars made by VinFast, which is Mr. Vuong's company.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, who is the CEO of GSM, something important happended on September 30th. On that day, Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong, who is the Chairman of Vingroup, and some leaders from VinFast met with 70 business people. These business people came from 50 different companies, and they all came to Hanoi for this meeting.

During this meeting, everyone talked and shared their ideas. They all wanted to work together to make a strong electric car brand. They also wanted to create a useful app and a transportation company. The goal was to connect many different resources and work together.

Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong listened carefully to what the transport companies said in a meeting. He told them that he wants to work together with these companies. He hopes they can be partners and grow their businesses together. Mr. Vuong thinks this will be good for everyone.

The rich man talked about big goals. He said: "First, we need to make a good future for our children. We want the next generations to have a place to live that is greener, cleaner, and safer than now. Secondly, we want to have a Vietnamese brand that is known all over the world. VinFast might be the first one, but it will inspire others. Soon, we might have tens or hundreds of other famous brands from Vietnam. This will make us proud and be good for our children's future."

Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, who is the CEO of Global GSM, feels very proud about something happening in Vietnam. He is happy because the companies that help people travel are working together. These companies are trying to change the way they do things. They want to use vehicles that are better for the environment.

In recent years, Vietnam's transportation industry has gone through three important stages. These stages show how the industry has changed and grown over time. The first stage was when foreign companies came to Vietnam. For example, companies like Grab and Uber started operating in the country. This was a big change because it brought new ways of transportation to Vietnamese people. The second stage was a difficult time for the industry. This happened when the whole market faced problems because of a disease outbreak. This stage was challenging for many transportation companies because fewer people were traveling. The third stage, which is also the current stage, is called the "green storm". This name probably refers to the growth of environmentally friendly transportation options. It might include things like electric vehicles or bike-sharing services.

In the first two stages, local transport companies found it hard to adapt and change because of their connections with foreign companies. However, the current stage is very different. Now, VinFast, GSM, and other companies are leading the way by working together. They are forming a bigger and wider alliance. It's not just one company standing up anymore, but tens or hundreds of companies joining forces.

Mr. Thanh thinks that this year, about 10 transport companies will change completely to electric vehicles. He hopes that in 2025, this number will go up to 40-50 companies. This will help electric vehicles spread all over the provinces and cities of Vietnam.

Information from the Meeting: Taxi Companies Switch to Electric Cars

At a recent meeting, many taxi company leaders shared that they are ready to cancel their deposits on gasoline-powered cars. Instead, they want to buy electric cars from VinFast. This is a big change for these companies.

Mr. Ho Chuong, the CEO of Son Nam International Transport Company, said this was not an easy decision at first. However, he did some calculations that made him change his mind. He found out that a Toyota Vios, which is a popular gasoline car, uses about 1,750 dong per kilometer when driving in the city. On the other hand, a VinFast electric car only costs about 600 dong per kilometer to run. This means that just for energy costs, electric cars can save more than 60% compared to gasoline cars.

The boss of MaiLove taxi company says that changing to electric cars saves money. It also fits with what the government wants for green and clean public transport. This is a good long-term plan. Many transport business owners at the event agreed with Mr. Ho Chuong's idea.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Dong, who runs Lado Taxi, has tried using VinFast electric cars instead of petrol cars. He remembers that in 2022, Lado was having trouble after Covid-19. He thought electric cars could help save the company. They started with VF e34 cars. After that, Lado's money and the drivers' pay got better.

"Each VF e34 car makes at least 1.8 million dong per day," says the Lado Taxi boss. "Now, drivers don't ask each other how much money they make. They just show their hands to say how much they earn."

Besides the high quality of electric cars that satisfies many customers and their low running costs, Mr. Dong was impressed by the after-sales service. He shared that he had bought thousands of petrol cars from different companies but never experienced such good after-sales service as VinFast and GSM provide.

Regarding Lado Taxi, the company has already changed over 800 cars to electric vehicles. He promised that by the end of the year, Lado Taxi will switch to 100% electric taxis with about 1,100 cars. "I often joke with other businesses, telling them to make the switch, and if they lose money, I'll take responsibility. That's because I'm very confident in the cost-saving ability of VinFast electric cars," Mr. Dong encouraged.
