With the message "Breaking Through with Resilience," the VinFuture Science and Technology Week and Aware Ceremony 2024 will take place from December 4 to 7 in Hanoi.

This international-scale event series brings together many outstanding global names in key fields such as materials science, artificial intelligence, air pollution, and environmental research.

Notably, the highlight of the event series is the Ceremony honoring scientists with remarkable achievements who are contributing to serving the lives of millions, even billions of people on Earth.

Entering its fourth year, the VinFuture Science and Technology Week and Award Ceremony has made its mark as one of the most anticipated annual events in the global Science and Technology community.

The week includes 4 main activities: "Science for Life Symposium", "VinFuture Discovery Dialogue Series", "VinFuture Prize Ceremony" and "Meet and Greet with VinFuture Prize Winners 2024".

Starting the event series is the "Science for Life Symposium" taking place over two days, December 4-5, with 4 sessions: "Materials for a Sustainable Future", "Real-world AI Implementation", "Air Pollution and Transportation: Opportunities and Challenges for Vietnam and the World" and "Innovations in Cardiovascular Care and Stroke Treatment".

The scientific dialogue series brings together world-leading scientists as speakers, including Professor Yann LeCun (Vice President and Chief AI Scientist at Meta), and Silver Professor at New York University - NYU, USA); Professor Seth Marder (Director of the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Institute - a joint organization between the University of Colorado-Boulder and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory - NREL, USA); Professor Yafang Cheng (Director of Aerosol Chemistry Department at Max Planck Institute for Chemistry, Germany) and Professor Valery Feigin (Professor of Neurology and Epidemiology, Director of National Institute for Stroke and Applied Neurosciences, Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand).

Alongside the scientific discussions, the "VinFuture Discovery Dialogue Series" will serve as an important bridge connecting leading global scientists with research institutes, universities, and businesses in Vietnam. These dialogues will focus on finding solutions to global challenges and promoting research cooperation through sessions such as: "New Approaches to Control and Regulate High Blood Pressure", "Sustainable Farming Techniques Adapting to Climate Change", "Innovations in Solar Energy and Advanced Materials Technology" and "Women Scientists for a Future of Sustainable Energy and Green Environment".

On the evening of December 6th, the VinFuture Prize Ceremony 2024 - a highly anticipated event in the global scientific community - will take place at the Hanoi Opera House in Hanoi. 

This significant moment will honor groundbreaking inventions and technologies, selected from nearly 1,500 research projects nominated by more than 9,000 partners from over 80 countries and territories worldwide.

Following the Award Ceremony, an event titled "Welcome to the Future: Meet the VinFuture Prize Winners 2024" will be held throughout December 7th. During this event, the prize winners will spend the morning sharing their extensive knowledge and inspiring stories about their research journeys with the public and Vietnamese scientific community. The afternoon session will feature topic-specific presentations aimed at promising young scientists and businesses interested in applying research outcomes to practical situations.

Another special highlight of this year's event series is the first-ever recognition by the VinFuture Foundation of scientists who serve as official nominators for the Prize. These scientists have played crucial roles in identifying, nominating, and honoring technological solutions and research works that have significant impact on humanity. The scientists will share their motivations for participating in the nomination process, having been convinced by VinFuture's broad vision and noble mission. They will discuss how they were inspired to become part of this global initiative that aims to recognize and celebrate innovations that make a real difference in people's lives.
