On her personal Facebook account, Ms. Molly Mai Le, a former Vingroup employee, shared about the "5 Transformations" principle in billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong's corporation, which includes: Nucleation, standardization, simplification, automation and optimization. Among these, "simplification" is one of the key elements creating the "speed" characteristic throughout the system, she emphasized.

Ms. Mai Le recalled that her first task assigned by MR. Pham Nhat Vuong was to present a major plan for Vinpearl. Typically, an interational consulting firm would present such as plan in hundreds of pages, and that would only cover the concept part. The detailed implementation sections for each phase, channel, and product would require hundreds more pages for each component.

Knowing the billionaire's preference for brevity, she tried to condense her presentation into 5 pages. However, Mr. Vuong commented that the plan was still too complex and instructed her to summarize it on a single A4 sheet.

"Mr. Vuong told me, 'Why are you making it so complicated? Do it this way.'

Then, in just about 30 seconds of his explanation, I suddenly understood his way of thinking. Everything became crystal clear,"  Ms. Mai Le recalled.

The one-page A4 plan was subsequently completed and distributed to various leaders across the group for implementation. Ms. Mai Le observed that while many people might see it as just another process on the surface, she believes that "beneath this simple plan lies an extremely logical and highly professional thought process."

"From that point on, whether classic or modern marketing concepts, when applied to this planning framework, they all reveal the true essence of the matter," she explained.

Ms. Mai Le believes that detailed presentations are still necessary but should be reserved for later stages, typically for lower-level implementation teams. At the management level, however, a "one-page A4" document is absolutely essential to maintain a comprehensive overview of the situation.

In fact, this isn't just a process unique to Vingroup or Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong. Ms. Mai Le mentions that when learning about service scaling from leading global experts, she discovered that major brands take simpification to such an extreme that some processes are reduced to just three words.

"As time went on, I better understood why he needed everything on one A4 page. When dealing with large volumes of work that require accuracy for strategic decisions, only the most essential elements should appear on that page. There's also something that few people mention - if he reads the first line (usually the proposal reason or approach) and it's not accurate, the entire work that follows must be redone. And you're not allowed to redo it more than twice," the former Vingroup employee explains.

This simplification approach at Vingroup strongly reflects billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong's style, often referred to as the "Vuong Way" - Ms. Mai Le adds.

Ms. Mai Le has been associated with Vingroup since August 2016, starting as Marketing Director at Vinpearl. She then moved through various positions within Vingroup, including Marketing Assistant to the Chairman, Marketing Director at VinFast, Marketing Director at Vinhomes, and other roles.

Before joining Vingroup, she spent 9 years at FPT Group under Chairman Truong Gia Binh. There, she served as Corporate Brand Director, department head, and held other positions.

Currently, she serves as the Regional Director of Keller Williams Vietnam.

Keller William is a member of KW Worldwide and Keller Williams - the world's leading real estate company in terms of both broker count and transaction revenue, boasting 200,000 agents across 57 countries and territories.
