Vision Pro, Apple's first mixed reality headset, is already available in many countries worldwide and may soon make its debut in Vietnam.
Specially, in Volume 2 of the Official Gazette No. 435, Part A, June 2024, published by the Vietnam Intellectual Property Office, Apple has registered the industrial design copyright for the Vision Pro headset. Apple filed the copyright application on December 1, 2023, and it was officially approved on June 25, 2024.
The tech giant has registered a range of detailed components including the head-mounted display, straps, bands, covers, front face shield, lenses, display unit, light shield, charging cable, and battery.
Apple Vision Pro was introduced at the WWDC23 event in June 2023. The headset features visionOS, a groundbreaking operating system with an intuitive spatial user interface and a remarkable input system that users can control with their eyes, hands, and voice.
visionOS is built on decades of engineering innovation and breakthroughs in the design of iOS, iPadOS, and macOS.
This operating system also seamlessly integrates with Apple's hardware, software, and services ecosystem to deliver an exciting experience across all of the users' favorite Apple devices.
The Apple Vision Pro has a starting price of $3,499 (about 90 million VND), with storage options of 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB.
A recent leak suggests that Apple has told its component suppliers that they've decided not to continue developing Vision Pro 2. Instead, they'll focus on a more affordable MR (mixed reality) headset.
The report claims Apple aims to launch a budget Vision headset priced similarly to their most expensive iPhone, around $1,600 (about 41 million VND). While this price is much lower than the Vision Pro, it's still pricier than the Meta Quest 3, which costs only $649 (17 million VND) for its top-end version.
The selling price of Vision Pro in Vietnam is a factor that tech fans are very interested in.
In mid-April this year, the Apple CEO visited Vietnam. During an activity at an elementary school, a student asked Tim Cook about the price of Apple Vision Pro, "Why is Apple Vision Pro priced as high as a motobike in Vietnam?" CEO Tim Cook responded that this was a great ideas for users.
"We see the combination of the real world and the virtual world as a great idea, and we want to bring experiences that users can't get through the two-dimensional world. That's why we're very happy with this product," CEO Tim Cook replied to the student.
"That's because Vision Pro is a technology of the future," Tim Cook emphasized the importance of technology in today's life.
